Improving Lives
Supporting charities
Miners' welfare and recreational charities
We help more than 200 independent mining charities to continue delivering essential recreational and social facilities in local communities. Through providing guidance and governance support we can help them to thrive.
Local miners’ welfare charities are often at the forefront of providing sports and community venues at the centre of your towns and villages. From providing football pitches and bowling to social activities, your charity is integral to your local community.
Our support can help your charity to be sustainable through supporting your trustees, helping you understand your legal and charitable requirements and access funds to help you develop.
We actively support other mining charities to deliver services in local communities. We can help with how to manage your funds and remain sustainable. If you are a trustee of a local mining-related charity and require support, please get in touch with us.
Official guidance is also available from the Charity Commission and National Council for Voluntary Action (NCVO) websites.
We regularly collate fundraising opportunities available to coal mining communities. Check out the latest opportunities.
